Label Groups are the foundation of how Jira Comment Toolkit organizes labels.

Admins with label management access can create as many label groups as they need.  
Each group can reflect a classification system — Here are some examples: “Delivery workflow”, “Customer requests”, “Internal decisions”,…

### What can you do with Groups?

Admins can:

- Create/edit/delete groups
- Rename groups at any time
- Move labels between groups
- Assign group to spaces


> 📝 Group naming is fully flexible — we recommend avoiding duplicate wording across groups to reduce confusion.

> 📝 **Moving Labels that are already used inside comments:**

> 📝 In order to protect your data integrity, if you attempt to  move a label that is already being used in Project X into a group that is **not** yet assigned to that project, this Warning modal will appear:

> 📝 - The label will be moved to the new group
> 📝 - The new group will be automatically assigned the group(s) where the label is used and assigned to comment

### What you can do with Labels

Within each group, Admins can:

- create labels
- edit labels
- delete labels
- archive / unarchive labels
- change label color

Color coding makes the meaning visually scannable in long comment threads.


### Archiving vs Deleting Labels

| **Action** | **Effect** |
| --- | --- |
| **Archive label** | The label becomes hidden from all comments, stays intact, and can be restored later |
| **Delete label** | The label is permanently deleted and removed from all comments where it was previously used |

> ℹ️ Archiving is recommended when unsure — it preserves data **integrity**

> 📝 **Note:** If you are an existing JCT user upgrading from a previous version, all your old labels will initially appear under an “Ungrouped” section.
