## Introduction

Migrating cloud-based apps that rely on macros can be challenging.

The size of Confluence instances, Atlassian API limitations in Cloud, and outdated macros in Confluence pages can pose significant risks and create blocking issues during migration.

## What problems it solves?

We developed a pre-check layer to scan and identify potential errors in pages. This allows users to fix issues before running the CCMA and be aware of pages that need checking and correction in Cloud.

CFT Migration Assistant detects **macro issues** (e.g., unsupported parameters, legacy variants, combinations that won’t map 1:1 to Cloud).

- Provides **actionable fixes** so admins can **clean** their **data** before migration.
- Minimizes “after migration” surprises such as:
  - Missing macros
  - Garbled layouts
  - Broken user experiences

## How it works **with CCMA**

Ascend acts as a **migration pre-check and cleanup guide** for Vectors apps before running CCMA.

1. **Scans your DC spaces for Vectors usage**
  - Choose which spaces to analyze (all or specific ones).
  - Ascend analyzes them and detects where Vectors macros are used (e.g., CFT macros).
2. **Assesses migration readiness**
  - Checks which macros are **fully supported in Cloud**, which have **limitations**, and require intervention.
3. **Lists issues found and how to fix them**
  - Provides **recommended fixes** (what to change in DC before migration).
4. **Confirms when spaces are “migration-ready”**
  - You can re-run the check on the same spaces until issues are resolved.
5. **Hands off to CCMA**
  - When your spaces are green in Ascend, proceed with a **standard CCMA migration**.

2. [Prepare:](https://vectors.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MH/pages/1760133124) Prepare your space data.
3. [Review:](https://vectors.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MH/pages/1761116171) Review and fix potential errors.
4. [Migrate:](https://vectors.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MH/pages/1761116178) Start your Cloud migration via Atlassian CCMA.
5. [Verify:](https://vectors.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MH/pages/1760591900) View and verify results in Cloud.
